At last October's "Regenerating Our Future" Unconference participants were asked to write themselves a letter from one year in the future. We've just mailed those letters back to their authors (they still have 6 months to finish making their visions come true!) and posted a copy for you to browse.

The letters represent an interesting snapshot of our collective vision. There is appreciation for our community, concrete goals for the land and projects, ambitions and aspirations for change, and even some early disappointments.

Here are a few snippets of what people foresee:

• despite a hot summer "my greens remain healthy and happy"  
• "at least three groups are continuing" to work 
• the Civilian Ecorestoration Corps is getting off the ground 
• I'm more hopeful about the future of this planet 
• Movement is happening I've seen it, I can feel it. 
• It is great to see the fun people you are working with 
• There is a vibrant and growing network of people and orgs in DC who are actively working on projects together 
• We're also close to getting a bill introduced in the Maryland State legislature to encourage Healthy Soils
• Our farm continues to build higher soil organic matter 

Of course, seeing the future isn't 20/20 so we also have "Clinton wasn't as bad as we thought she would be, Bernie".  

What's in your letter from the future?

In the last issue of The Wave we asked for suggestions for readings related to regeneration, the anthropocene, and wave-building.  We got some great suggestions and have updated the reading list.  Thanks for your recommendations. We are very early in the process of defining what it means to build a regenerative economy. While the terminology will continue to evolve, we're convinced the ideas are directionally correct. Now we are studying, testing, plotting, and building interest, support, and resources.

Thus this newsletter, which will come out every few weeks with information about RASA - narrating our work - along with brief observations and links to related materials exploring innovation and the regenerative economy.

With effort, and a bit of luck, we hope support for these concepts becomes a wave sweeping the world! Check out the archive to see if this newsletter is right for you (or a friend).
